CDN a Peer to Peer cash system
This begins with the joke or dream that 1oz of gold be the new 5$ CDN
I have produced the 1/2cent coin so far and the 1cent coin.
Here how it works.
1$ is 1/5 of an oz of gold. 31.1/5 = 6.22g of pure gold should be in the 1$ coin.
hence a 50c coin would be 3.11g of pure gold, a 25c be 1.555g and a 10c 0.622g the 5c would be 0.311g of pure gold
The system works on a gold to silve ratio of 100:1 therefore a cent is 1/5ozt silver and half a cent is 1/10ozt silver
These are the two coins currently issued.
Calculation of CAD to CDN equivalent can be easily accomplished using the spot price, when talking about small quantity such as under 1$ it is suggested to use silver price and when talking larger than 1$ quantity it will be better to use gold price.
As of now 16Aug2025 an ozt of gold is 4634.58$CAD so a CDN = 926.92$CAD, 0.01CDN = 9.11$CAD.
This system is compatible with the old one as a CDN can be used as CAD anyway by looking at the conversion rate. Coins exist of this new system so far and are the 1/2cent and the cent coin respectively 1/10ozt and 1/5ozt silver. Any bullion product that match the weight can be used in it’s place just as well. Official CDN compatible coin are 3/4” in diameter and 1.1mm thick for the 1/2cent and the 1cent is 7/8” of diameter and about 1.2mm thick if I remember this correctly.
The next step is to expand the existing coinage to the 5c, 10c, 25c, 50c and 1$. as well as making this actual design for the coins as the ones in circulation although cdn compatible are off brand. For this system to be succesfull in the long therm acceptance as to be gained through daily use for small and large transaction between peers.
Thanks for reading this, hopefully this comes as exciting news as this has been long in the making.
Have a good day yall
